Ms. Wang elaborated her report from six parts.

Firstly, Ms. Wang introduced China's cotton textile industry from feedstock consumption, grey fabric production, cotton quality and foreign trading in 2015. She highlighted that cotton processing volume decreased while consumption of other staple fiber increased, grey fabric production dropped, proportion of high-quality cotton shrank, foreign trading volume contracted and yarn capacity expanded in Xinjiang.

Secondly, she presented prices of cotton and textile products, including cotton, VSF, PSF, cotton yarn and cotton fabric.

Thirdly, she analyzed the trade trend of cotton and textile products. Exports of cotton textile products logged negative growth in 2015, especially exports to EU and Japan. Imports of medium to high counts cotton yarn hiked. Spread of China's domestic and overseas cotton price widened in 2016. Exports of cotton fabric shrank over 2015, while rebounded slightly in the latter half year.

Fourthly, she assessed the profits of 200 follow-up enterprises in China. The business income was stable to good. She pointed out that the prosperity index of cotton textile industry was below 50 since Q2, 2013. However, investment had been increasing under the industry transformation.

Fifthly, she expounded tha prospect of industrial innovation on supply-side, including improvement of product quality, enrichment of product variety, efficient supply, digitalization, serialization and intellectualization of products, improvement of non-cotton fiber development capability, industrial integration and enhancement of domestic cotton quality.

Finally, she forecast the industry development direction in terms of growth, challenge, supply and foreign trading.
