He delivered the report from three aspects. Firstly, he gave the overview of Indian textile industry. India is the world’ largest producer of cotton and occupies 22% of world’s spindles capacity. Then he introduced Indian textile industry from cotton, cotton yarn and fabric. Cotton consumption by the Indian Spinners grew by 26% over past 5 years. China is the largest market for Indian yarn recording a growth of 24 % in the year 2015 over the previous year. China is the 17th largest market for export of Fabrics from India. Overall export of Fabrics has declined by – 6 % and export to China has declined by 16 % in the year 2015 over the previous year.
